CeBIT 2010: cape it easy!
From 2nd to 6th March 2010, c.a.p.e. IT GmbH is present at the fair CeBIT in Hannover and introduces its services and free software solutions within Service Management and IT Infrastructure. Our motto is “cape IT easy” and we show you live among all our innovative all-in-one solution for Service Management: the KIXbox (www.kixbox.de).
CeBIT is the worldwide biggest fair around digital solutions within information and communication technologies for working and living environment. Target groups of visitors are users from the industry and trade area, banking and service sectors, public administration and science as well as all users, who are simply enthusiasts of technology.
CeBIT offers an international platform for exchange of opinions related to the current trends in the branches, networking and product introductions. Since 1986, the Deutsche Messe AG organises CeBIT every spring in Hannover.
Moreover, we offer you this year an interesting course of lectures by our CEO, Rico Barth.

„Optimising IT
Service Processes with OTRS and opsi”
This lecture deals with the incident management within the service management and support of related processes by applied IT systems and their interfaces. Open Source Service Management System OTRS with the ITIL conformal extension OTRS::CiCS::ITSM treats the incident management processes in the Service Desk. Another significant part of lecture presents structure of a coherent and central database within the configuration management. The configuration management is included in the Hardware and Software Management. It allows a coherent view at the relevant data by the service workers and it is realised by interconnection of the free inventory software opsi.

„Competence initiative:
usability (CIU) – How the CIU project makes customer service more
ergonomic“
A Team at the Chemnitz University of Technology realised a project “Competence initiative: usability (CIU)” in cooperation with the c.a.p.e. IT GmbH. It was about improvements of usability within the Open Source Software OTRS::CiCS – a customer service module based on the well-known OTRS. The emphasis was put on measurement of the eye-tracking and it brought optimisation within software solutions. The software development shows how much this project influenced software improvements and which added-benefits could be achieved.

UCS-based Service Management“
Processes, structured procedures and documented working steps are a mandatory base for every company. A skilful integration of software that supports processes and is based on Open Source gives companies and organisations various advantages within areas like IT administration, IT and customer service and affected management processes. Moreover, it distributes related and high qualified data.
The basement for it is the UCS (Univention Corporate Server) and a certified service management all-in-one solution called KIXbox. By presenting the KIXbox, we will show you how Enterprise Open Source Components (among all Univention Corporate Server, Nagios, OTRS, opsi) were integrated into the IT Service Management Suite. Additionally to the explanations of process-related aspects and the level of integration, you will recognise high advantages of the KIXbox in view of process-oriented IT sections.
