Open Source Client Management with opsi (open - PC ServerIntegration)

opsi is an Open Source Client Management System for Windows-Clients based on Linux servers. It has been developed by one of our partners, uib GmbH. With opsi, you can realize the software development automatically and interaction free. It  improves your system management. Security Updates can be realized with a script-controlled setup program within the system, too. Moreover, opsi enables an automatic PC operating system installation. The opsi server is basis for the software development and OS installations. The system makes an inventory of hardware and software of the integrated devices. Needed information follows via WMI and is reported to the opsi-server. The presentation of results is displayed clearly in accordance to the component classes in the opsi-configuration frontend. Software information is read from Registry. Another module of opsi is the Software Asset Management (SAM) that involves managing and optimizing the purchase, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software applications.
