User conference for information security
The verinice.XP is the conference for users of the OpenSource ISMS tool verinice. On February 27th and 28th in 2019, IT security, standards, data protection (EU GDPR) and the IT security law are on the agenda in Berlin. The modernization of IT-Grundschutz and pioneering innovations in verinice will also have their place in the program.
The event addresses IT decision-makers, security officers and data protection officers of companies, institutions and authorities.
A social event for further talks will take place on the evening of February 27th, 2019 in the conference hotel. All participants of verinice.XP are cordially invited.
On February 26th, 2019, there will also be two workshops. These deal with the introduction of verinice or verinice.PRO either with the focus on ISO 27001 or Modernized IT-Grundschutz. In addition, both courses discuss the EU GDPR and the implementation options with the verinice data protection module (procedural directory, order processing). The workshop participation is possible independently of the verinice.XP.
Registrations are made directly through organizer of the event.
Title: Security only works together - As in practice, IT service management and security management come together with KIX and verinice
Speaker: Rico Barth, Managing Director c.a.p.e. IT GmbH
Topic: Often the IT departments are not yet integrated with the security officers. ITIL also takes up the workflows of security management as a best practice guide. At the same time, important organizations in Germany are subject to the federal government's KRITIS program for the protection of critical infrastructures. Based on the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) of the IT department, knowledge could be shared and multiple data maintenance and redundant workflows minimized. The lecture uses practical examples to illustrate how IT organizations have managed to close this gap with simple means based on the open source systems KIX Professional for IT Service Management and verinice.PRO for Information Security Management. Inspired by safety certifications such as DIN ISO 27001, previous procedures are called into question. Because many responsible persons have similar topics on the table: central electronic IT documentation, the documentation of operator instruction, comprehensive device logbooks and last but not least automated workflows such as regular technical maintenance. Fast successes are often necessary.
